Rcan Medical Awarded Provincial “High-end Medical Equipment” CT X-Ray Tube Key Specialist Project

March 2020, while Rcan CT X-ray has been announced to be among the National Pandemic Urgently Needed Supplies, Rcan has also been awarded as one of Guangdong Province major research and development project: “High-end Medical Equipment Research and development”. This project was composed around the wish to follow thoroughly General Secretary Xi’s speech on reinforcing our shortcomings in high-end healthcare core technologies during the 19th National congress, deployed by the Provincial Technology and Innovation conference meeting and 12th Province congress, in order to accelerate Guangdong Province’s key area research and developments.

After initial investigation, expert discussions, declaration recommendation, and Q&A review, Zhuhai Rcan Vacuum Electronics ltd., won over the judges.  Zhuhai Rcan is the birthplace of the first mad-in-China CT X-ray tube; demonstration project base of the National Torch CT X-ray tube developments, is first on the shore in made-in-China CT X-ray tube, and placed in the forefront of the industry in terms of our technologies and size. The “high thermo capacity CT X-ray tube research and development” project declared by Rcan, belongs to a nationally encouraged strategic industry, place with high importance with the plans of “Made-in-China 2025”, and “’Thirteenth five years’ National strategic novel industry development planning”. This round of Guangdong key area research and development project nomination process demanded even higher standards in domestic component usages, product application, industrialization than the national “Thirteenth Five year” projects. Despite that, Rcan, cooperating with nine different firms and institutions, relying on over 10-years of experience in CT X-ray tube research and manufacturing, is confident it can deliver on the promises outlined in the project statement, and maintain its lead with the industry nationally, fill in the gaps of domestic supply of high-end X-ray tubes and bridge our nation’s need for full scale high-end medical imaging industry. To break through the monopoly by foreign companies, and actualize domestic production and control over the CT X-ray tube industry, is a noble path worthy of our pursuit.
