Dr. Malo, the inventor of All-on-4®Surgical Protocol, was invited to attend Noble Biocare’s 2018 global innovation conference.
The theme of this conference is “Innovation defines our future”, it aims to deliver the latest developments, technologies and ideas in dental implantation through seminars and face-to-face conversations. As the premier event in dental implantation, our conference saw the attendance of 50 international experts in dental implantation, and also draw thousands of dental professionals from the greater China area.
As the an honored and important guest of this conference, Dr. Malo’s presentation “Edentulous jaw All-on-4®Surgical Protocol: New Products, New Method” closely demonstrated the spirit of this conference.
During his presentation, Dr.Malo reviewed the progress and development of the All-on-4®in the last 20 years: Since its invention in 1998, it has freed 75% of the patients who needed bone graft surgeries from it. Ten years later, in 2008, Professor Brånemark invented cheekbone implantation solution for patients with extremely damaged upper jaw with no space to implant new teeth. And in 2018, a new round of innovations help streamline the solution and incorporation of newer and other technological innovation into the protocol.
Dr.Malo believes that the innovation in technology is married to the innovation of the product, however every new innovation brings new problems, and new problems will always need new solutions.
At the end of presentation, after sharing these innovation, Dr.Malo also brought some case studies on patients with maxillary atrophy where All-on-4® zygomatic planting and double zygomatic planting were done. He emphasized these solutions did not just repaired the patient’s ability to chew or the aesthetics of the patient, but also fundamentally changed the lives of many edentulous jaw patients.
